Blue Gate Antwerp, Montea build on cooperation with Tectum Group

On the former brownfield site of Petroleum-Zuid in Antwerp, Montea developed two sustainable industrial buildings on the innovative Blue Gate site. For both projects they called on Tectum Group as their roofing partner.

Sustainable and circular thinking as a starting point

EPDM was chosen for the roofing, for two obvious reasons: its long lifespan and the possibility of mechanical fastening. The latter allows for easier disassembly and reuse of the material, a step toward circular construction.

"Sustainability is a core value for Montea," says Caroline. "With Tectum Group as a partner, we can live up to that ambition, also in the details."

From initial collaboration to long-term relationship

What started with one building at Blue Gate grew into a follow-up project. Montea once again chose Tectum Group.

Both buildings on the site achieved a BREEAM-Excellent label. The collaboration between Montea and Tectum Group played an important role in this, thanks to well-considered material choices, technical expertise and a shared vision of the future.
