Not interested in a 9-to-5 office job? Do you enjoy working closely with a project manager as part of a team and want to help carry out both repair work and larger roofing projects? Then this position as Assistant Project Manager at Tectum Roofcomfort is the right fit for you!
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will serve as the project manager’s right-hand person and support him in various aspects of project management. You will be trained in two key areas: repair work and project management
- You will assist the project manager in preparing projects, such as compiling and obtaining approval for technical data sheets and developing implementation details.
- You assess in advance which practical matters need to be taken care of—such as permits, cranes, and parking spaces—and ensure that everything is in order on time.
- During the project, you’ll serve as the eyes and ears on the job site. You’ll monitor the quality of the work, keep track of the job site inventory, and ensure that materials are ordered and delivered on time.
- You will be present at site kickoffs—both for permanent crews and subcontractors—and assist with the practical organization on site.
- You will be in regular contact with the workers and subcontractors, give them instructions, and ensure that the work is carried out safely and according to plan.
- You are also responsible for measuring the work that has been completed, so that the project manager can prepare accurate progress reports.
Everything is done in close collaboration with the project manager, who will mentor you and help you grow in your role. Over time, there are opportunities to advance to a project manager position, should you have that ambition.
