Project

Roof restoration of St. Larentius Church

Pitched roofs

The project started by carefully removing the old copper covering to prevent damage to the underlying structures. Next, the wood framing was inspected and damaged elements were replaced. The new wooden substructure was then installed according to the original design specifications. This was done according to modern standards for durability and safety. The new copper roof was carefully installed with craftsmanship and precision to ensure a perfect fit and watertightness.

The result of the roof restoration is a restored copper roof that is not only functional and durable, but also preserves the historic appearance of the St. Laurence Church. The roof now provides improved waterproofing, preventing leaks and further damage.

The restored church can now resume its role as an important cultural and architectural monument in the city of Antwerp for many years to come.
