The roofs above the offices, accounting for 1,732 m², received a completely new construction. Additional insulation and a multi-layer roof waterproofing were installed. The skylights were also renewed, contributing to a better working environment and greater energy efficiency. The white finish on the roof reduces heat absorption during the summer months.
The production halls, formerly known as the salt halls, were equipped with new, insulated roof panels. Prior to this, the old roofing containing asbestos was carefully removed and the existing metal support structure locally reinforced. Thanks to the choice of durable materials, this roof can withstand intensive industrial use and severe weather conditions.
In Genk, the main building of Orbix, specialist in circular applications for steel and minerals, underwent a thorough roof renovation. More than 8,000 m² of roof surface, divided between the offices and production halls, was renewed by Tectum Dekkers Genk. The renovation was done with attention to safety, planning and continuity of production.

The project was carried out while production remained fully active at the site. Extra attention was paid to safety, partly due to the proximity of an active high-voltage line. In consultation with the grid operator, part of the line was temporarily de-energized to avoid risks. In addition, much of the work was done at great height, from a crane with a manbasket.
With this project, Tectum Group confirms its expertise in industrial roof renovations that combine safety, quality and business continuity.
