Project

Roof restoration of the Royal Palace

Pitched roofs

The goal was to carefully restore the damaged lead eaves, lead roof ornaments, and natural slate roofs while maintaining the original style and architecture. This included removing rust, repairing deformations and applying a new layer of lead where necessary. This allowed the eaves to once again provide optimal weather protection. The steel trusses were sandblasted and repainted with an enamel paint.

The wooden substructure, which gives the lead roof its characteristic appearance, was inspected to determine which parts needed to be replaced or repaired. Any rotten or damaged wood elements were removed and replaced with new wood of similar quality.
