Pitched roofs

Step by step to a new zinc roof

The first phase of the renovation consisted of removing the old roofing. On the main roof, we applied a solid 22 mm wood-fiber board to the roof structure, with a vapor permeable foil above it. To ensure proper ventilation, a CLS battens were installed, followed by the wooden boarding. The final step will be the installation of the zinc roof panels, which provide a durable and stylish finish.

Demolition of existing wood roofing

Vapor permeable foil with CLS battening and wooden boarding

At the moment, the lower main roof is already finished up to the signs and ready for the next phase: the installation of the zinc panels. Meanwhile, our roofers have begun renovating the towers. Here they are working systematically from top to bottom, starting with the upper ring.

These images show how the roof is taking shape bit by bit and how our craftsmen install the zinc sheets with precision.

A clamp is placed to temporarily hold the zinc panel in place.

The panels are made to size in our zinc workshop. The final bending work is done on site.

Although we have only just begun, the renovation is progressing according to plan. By summer, the Izba restaurant will have a completely renovated and solid roof, perfectly fitting the unique atmosphere of Pairi Daiza. To be continued.

Roof renovation Izba Restaurant - Pairi Daiza

Pairi Daiza has Tectum Group appointed for the roof renovation of the Izba restaurant. The existing wooden roofing was in urgent need of replacement. Instead of reusing wood, a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing solution was chosen: a zinc roofing. This not only ensures a longer lifespan, but also contributes to a sleek and authentic look that perfectly matches the building's architecture.
