One point of contact for the building envelope

As a contractor or developer, you involve a hundred and one parties in a construction project. Their activities - for a multifunctional roof, for example - inevitably interact with each other. Both during planning, execution and aftercare. Getting that properly coordinated is often a chore. Wouldn't it be convenient if you could count on one partner for the building envelope that takes care of all your worries? Discover the advantages in terms of planning, communication and insurance.

Tectum Group is more than a collection of leading Class 8 accredited roofing companies. Our group also has specialists in green roofs, balustrades, fall protection and liquid waterproofing under its wings. Disciplines that all interface with the waterproofing of roofs, terraces or galleries. As a contractor or project manager, you know better than anyone that these items often harbor risks. Managing them well requires a lot of attention and good coordination. "We understand that all too well at Tectum Group . We try to unburden our clients as much as possible in this respect. This can be done by offering the various services together. In this way we offer the contractor a single point of contact for the entire building envelope," says Nico De Meester, account manager at Tectum Dekkers.

One point of contact

Building and renovating is becoming increasingly complex. "Where a building used to be straightforward, today you are faced with challenging detailing, recessed windows, green roofs, new materials, aesthetic details, parapets, ... Finding contractors to do all those lots still works, but the design detailing can result in multiple parties having to come to the site at different times. That is quite a challenge to get those parties' schedules right. When we are allowed to offer a total package, we arrange that entirely in-house."

When a problem arises, it is even more difficult to get everyone on the job site together. "Also, not everyone is inclined to make adjustments to their work for another party. For example, think of removing a green roof to find a leak in the roof waterproofing. That is precisely where the strength of Tectum Group. Thanks to our versatile expertise in the building envelope, we can take all of this work in one hand and coordinate and perform it autonomously. Thanks to good coordination, we prevent these problems," Nico De Meester continues.

Streamlined planning

That comprehensive approach offers the contractor or developer several advantages. "For starters, there is only one point of contact during the construction phase. Our project leader or manager takes care of internal coordination with the various sister companies so that everyone knows when something is expected on the site. In this way we ensure a smooth flow of activities ... and in the right order. Tectum Group internally designates the contact person based on the size of the project. The department with the largest share is responsible for coordination."

Not pointing fingers, but offering solutions

In the unlikely event that something does go wrong with the delivered work, as a client you also only have to turn to the permanent contact person within Tectum Group . He or she will take care of the necessary internal coordination to investigate the problem together on site and quickly find a solution. In short, no finger pointing in liability issues. One partner provides the total guarantee."

Should such a problem unexpectedly turn into an insurance case, it is reassuring that all partners within Tectum Group are affiliated with the same insurer. No long drawn-out wrangling between different insurers, then. Moreover, Tectum Group is a solid player that has a solid financial buffer and can take a beating.

Thinking along from the start

Tectum Group is also evolving with the new trends in the construction industry. Circularity? Check, we can and offer a customized solution for it. Thinking along? We can do that too. Not only in classic tenders, but also in design & build projects or construction team collaborations where the contractor may propose solutions based on a performance specification. "We have the necessary knowledge and people to work out performant solutions tailored to a project. Just think about working out complex details, selecting technical data sheets, substantiating the quality using ATG and B-roof, wind load calculations, ... Moreover, we are product-independent, so we can really work out the best solution for the roof within the set requirements," concludes Nico De Meester.
