Eco-friendly water coolers for Tectum Group
Written by

In our contemporary society, a world without plastic is hard to imagine. Yet at Tectum Group we strive to use as little plastic as possible. That is why we chose to replace our water coolers with plastic water bottles with water coolers connected to the water mains.

We all know them, the classic water coolers with the big blue plastic water bottles. Although they are well established in our offices and canteens, they still come with significant drawbacks. After all, bottled water coolers are very bad for the environment and not at all sustainable. The bottles for water coolers are usually made of polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is more recyclable than PET, but even if the bottles are reused, the lifespan of plastic is finite. Eventually, the bottles end up in landfills. Since plastic is not biodegradable, but transforms into microparticles, the damage to the environment is significant. These microplastics eventually end up in our seas and oceans which has a hugely damaging effect on our underwater ecosystems.

In addition, the production and transportation of these water bottles is harmful to the environment, contributing to climate change.

Because of the above reasons, we chose to switch to water coolers connected directly to the water mains. These new water coolers are equipped with an advanced filter system to purify the water and ensure a constant supply of clean and chilled water.

What are the benefits?

  • Significant reduction in plastic waste and thus plastic pollution.
  • No more reliance on the production and transportation of plastic water bottles, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint.
  • No more inconvenience and wasted time replacing empty water bottles.

Conclusion:

By switching from bottle water coolers to water coolers connected directly to pipes, we are helping to reduce plastic waste and protect the environment, including ocean and animal health. So goodbye plastic water bottles and hello water coolers connected directly to the pipes.
