New organizational structure for continued growth

Over a period of 40 years, Tectum Group grew into a company with an annual turnover of 250 million euros and more than 700 employees in Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. The group's main activities are contracting of B2b market and facade works on the one hand and distribution of roof and facade materials on the other. With an acquisition in 2022, a third activity was added, namely production of roof accessories. Today, the strong growth and diversity of activities with their own target groups and target markets leads us to a new organizational structure with a more decentralized approach and more autonomy for the various companies within the group. And to complete the picture, the parent holding company has been given a new name: Biesmans Group. This is to underline the family character of the group.

The executive arm of the organization, the B2B contracting business for roof and facade solutions, will retain the name Tectum Group.

Sustaining our growth path

Our group has achieved an impressive growth path over the past 20 years. In 2023, we tapped 250 million euros in annual sales.

The size of the company today requires an adapted structure. Moreover, we are determined to maintain the pace of growth. And this requires more autonomy for the activities and countries. The opportunities and challenges in the market today differ greatly between contracting and distribution activities and for the countries where we operate. Our own target markets and customer groups require a focused and decisive approach. For these reasons, a clear structure and greater autonomy are essential.

Corporatization of activities

In the new organizational structure, four large subsidiary holding companies were created under the parent holding company "Biesmans Group." Central services such as marketing, finance and HR were decentralized to the subsidiary holding companies.

Roofyou Belgium and RoofYou in the Netherlands combine distribution activities by country. The contractor activities are given the name already known in the market Tectum Group (for Belgium) and Tectum Group Poland. Each subsidiary holding company will have its own board of directors and CEOs have been appointed:

  • Chris Venken, CEO of RoofYou Belgium
  • Kris Bloemen, CEO of Tectum Group
  • Geert-Jan Vogels, CEO of RoofYou in the Netherlands
  • Piotr Szymczyk, CEO of Tectum Group Poland

Current CEO Rudy Evens assumes the role of executive chairman of the subholdings. With his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the company, he will play a crucial role in guiding the new CEOs and ensuring a smooth transition to the new structure. He will also monitor the good cooperation between the subsidiary holding companies to maximize synergies between the "sisters."

Filip and Yves Biesmans, as shareholders and directors, also guarantee the preservation of the family atmosphere and the core values of the group.

"Biesmans Group remains committed to innovation and growth," said Rudy Evens. "This new organizational structure and name change mark an important step, allowing us to position ourselves even better in a dynamic market. These changes allow us to further optimize our services and seize new opportunities."
