In project Luxia, the main roof and terraces have been elaborated as fully-fledged climate roofs and climate terraces. The main roof fulfills multiple functions simultaneously: it is sustainably waterproofed, buffers rainwater via a water retention system and is finished with an extensive green roof that contributes to natural insulation, increased biodiversity and a reduction in the urban heat island effect. The terraces combine comfort and climate gain: they serve as a relaxation space for residents while contributing to water management and climate mitigation through the semi-intensive green roof.
