Every year, Biesmans Group, the holding company above Tectum Group Roofyou, works with its employees to support social causes that really make a difference. This year, colleagues across the group once again demonstrated the power of commitment, creativity, and solidarity.
Thanks to dozens of heartwarming initiatives, we managed to raise €5,000 for each of the three selected charities, bringing the total amount raised to €15,000.
Throughout the year, colleagues took the initiative to organize activities. There was a wide variety of activities, and the enthusiasm was just as varied:
Baking croque monsieurs, selling candy bags, homemade blankets, cozy BBQ evenings, a Christmas fair with games of chance, but also a real Italian evening with refined snacks and carefully selected wines, for both colleagues and suppliers.
Every action, big or small, contributed to the same goal: making a difference for others together. And just as importantly, these initiatives brought colleagues closer together and created a sense of connection and warmth within the entire group.
What makes this initiative particularly special is that all Biesmans Group employees are involved in choosing the charities. Everyone is allowed to suggest an organization, after which three charities are selected each year. This allows us to support initiatives that are truly alive within our organization.
This year, our employees chose:
The Wings for Life Foundation funds global research into a cure for spinal cord injuries. Since its inception in 2004, the organization has supported promising research projects and clinical studies in collaboration with leading scientists and medical institutions.
The Knipperkot offers a safe place for young adults between the ages of 15 and 18 who are struggling to find their way in society or on the job market. Young people who are struggling with school pressure, relationship difficulties, or mental health issues are given the space to relax and discover their talents.
Since De Warmste Week took place in Genk this year, we chose this initiative as our charity. De Warmste Week brings people together around solidarity and community spirit and raises funds for numerous social projects. We were able to hand over the check in person during the event, a moment we also captured on video.
This annual charity campaign has become a fixture within the Biesmans Group. Not only because it offers concrete support to organizations that need it, but above all because it brings people together across departments and companies.
Thank you to all my colleagues who contributed ideas, organized activities, participated, or simply came to show their support. Together, we demonstrate that commitment does not require grand gestures, but is carried out through small, sincere initiatives.
