Porsche Drogenbos

Flat roofs

From the current situation to a sustainable solution

The existing roof had already been renovated by Tectum DSB in 2016. However, in light of the site’s further expansion and optimization, another renovation was necessary.

The original structure consisted of a steel sheet, a vapor barrier, rock wool insulation, a PVC layer, a separation layer, and a bituminous waterproofing membrane. This structure was thoroughly analyzed and optimized to meet current requirements for insulation value, durability, and energy performance.

New roof structure

Tectum Group a high-performance, future-oriented roof structure:

  • Installation of high-quality PIR insulation, bonded for maximum stability
  • Installation of a fully bonded two-layer bituminous waterproofing system
  • Finished with white roofing (cool roof)

This design ensures:

  • optimal thermal performance
  • improved water resistance and reliability
  • a longer roof lifespan

Ready for solar energy

An important part of the project was the planning and installation of a photovoltaic system.

The choice of a white roof finish plays a crucial role in this:

  • greater reflection of sunlight
  • less heat buildup on the roof surface
  • higher efficiency for solar panels
  • reduction in internal cooling demand

In this way, the roof actively contributes to the site's energy efficiency.

Part of a long-term partnership

This project is part of a long-standing partnership between D’Ieteren and Tectum Group has been in place for over 30 years.

As part of this partnership, Tectum Group is Tectum Group for:

  • maintenance of the entire roof stock
  • interventions as needed
  • scheduled renovations

This integrated approach ensures continuity, clarity, and peace of mind.

Result

With the renovation of the Porsche Drogenbos roof, D’Ieteren once again has a sustainable and high-performance roof that fits perfectly with the site’s overall renovation. The new roof structure provides a reliable and energy-efficient foundation for the building’s continued operation and is fully prepared for future applications such as solar panels. This project illustrates how a well-thought-out roofing approach contributes to the quality, sustainability, and future-proofing of a fully renovated building.
