Vanhout Headquarters

Flat roofs
Fall Protection

The existing, less effective insulation was replaced with 12 cm of PIR insulation, finished with a two-layer bituminous waterproofing membrane with white slate granules. In addition, we installed four BIBO blocks as permanent fall protection, ensuring that the technical systems on the roof remain safely accessible for maintenance.

As with many renovation projects, the challenge lay in keeping the building watertight during construction. Coordination with the mechanical and electrical subcontractor, as well as the complex connections to existing skylights and facade finishes, also required extra attention. Thanks to thorough preparation and close collaboration, the work proceeded smoothly and was completed well ahead of the scheduled deadline.

For the renovation of Vanhout’s headquarters in Geel, Tectum Group refurbished Tectum Group ,500 m² of flat roofs. The existing roof structure was completely removed and replaced with a high-performance solution that better protects the building against heat loss and prepares it for the future.

The work took place between mid-March and the end of May and was completed well ahead of the scheduled deadline.
