Tectum Group knows the roof of this logistics site inside and out. Since 2018, our Tectum Roofcomfort department has been responsible for the annual maintenance of the roof and for carrying out minor repairs. This has allowed us to closely monitor the condition of the roof over the years.
After consulting with WDP, it was ultimately decided to move away from spot repairs and instead thoroughly renovate the entire roof. The focus was not only on installing a new waterproof roof membrane, but also on improving the building’s thermal performance by adding additional insulation.
The existing metal roof panels could be retained. The corrugations in these roof panels were filled with EPS, after which an additional layer of PIR insulation was mechanically fastened in place. A new TPO roof membrane was then installed over the entire roof.
The existing skylight panels were not removed either. They were covered with metal sheets and incorporated into the new insulated roof structure. The existing smoke vents were removed, however, as they are no longer necessary thanks to the building’s sprinkler system.

Tectum Group carried out a large-scale roof renovation at WDP’s logistics site in Puurs-Sint-Amands. The building, which houses several tenants, received a new, high-performance roof structure covering an area of approximately 31,000 m². This project also builds on a long-standing partnership between WDP and Tectum Group.

With a roof area of 31,000 m², an efficient rainwater drainage system is at least as important as proper waterproofing. That is why the existing gutters were also replaced with TPO membrane sheets.
In addition, approximately 200 PLUVIA drains were replaced, so that the drainage system is now also adapted to the new roof structure.
The annual roof maintenance and ongoing monitoring ultimately led to a complete renovation of the roof structure. Thanks to the combination of additional thermal insulation, new TPO waterproofing, and a redesigned rainwater drainage system, WDP now has a more sustainable and future-proof roofing solution.
For Tectum Group , the project also illustrates the added value of a long-term approach: from periodic maintenance and repairs by Tectum Roofcomfort to the eventual complete renovation of 31,000 m² of roof.
