Extensive renovation with a focus on performance

A well-thought-out and sustainable approach was chosen for this site, tailored to the specific condition of the roofs.

The existing roof structure was partially removed, with the exception of the curved roof at the rear of one of the buildings. We then installed a completely new roof structure using high-performance materials:

  • New 100 mm insulation layer, glued and mechanically fastened
  • High-quality waterproofing for long-lasting and reliable protection

This combination ensures optimal thermal performance and a long-lasting, watertight result.

Along Bredabaan in Schoten, Tectum Group carried out Tectum Group renovation of six retail properties on behalf of Retail Estates. With a combined total roof area of 8,525 m², this project was part of a broader long-term vision for sustainable roof management.

As with many commercial buildings, the roof is a crucial but often underestimated component of the overall structure. By taking timely action, not only is the building’s lifespan extended, but its energy performance is also significantly improved.
